HarbourVest Hires David Atterbury Formerly of Abbey National
BOSTON — 05 January 2005 — HarbourVest Partners, LLC, a leading global private equity investment firm, announced today the hiring of David Atterbury as a vice president based in the firm’s London office. David will focus on non-U.S. secondary partnership investments.David most recently served as director of private equity at Abbey National Treasury Services Plc. His responsibilities at Abbey National included the development of a direct private equity portfolio and the subsequent disposal of a diversified portfolio of partnership commitments and direct holdings.

Prior to joining Abbey National, David worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers for five years, a tenure that included a one-year secondment to Bridgepoint Private Equity in London. He received a BSc (with honors) in International Management and French from the University of Bath in 1994 and completed ACA professional examinations in 1997.
Since 1986, HarbourVest has actively solicited and purchased secondary positions in both venture and buyout funds, as well as in portfolios of companies. HarbourVest has completed over 400 secondary transactions. In the past few years, HarbourVest has been credited with completing a number of large, creative, and industry-leading transactions.
