HarbourVest Partners Promotes 11 Investment Professionals
Boston — 28 October 2003 — HarbourVest Partners, LLC, a leading global private equity investment firm, announced today the promotion of 11 of the firm's 51 investment professionals.Brett A. Gordon and Mary Traer have been named principals of the firm. Hannah F. Tobin, Scott C. Voss, and Christopher J. Walker have been promoted to vice president. Brian J. Buenneke, John M. Fiato, and Jeffrey R. Keay have been promoted to senior associate, while Corentin du Roy, Clayton J. Gran, and Peter S. Marmer have been named associates.

Mr. Gordon, a member of the secondary partnership team, joined the firm in 1998 after graduating summa cum laude from the MBA program at Babson College. He also served as vice president for the Princeton Review of Boston, Inc., managing operations and long-range strategic planning. He graduated magna cum laude from Boston University with a bachelor's degree in management.
Ms. Traer joined the firm in 1997 as director of taxation. She previously spent five years with Ernst & Young as a tax-consulting manager in the Financial Services Group. Ms. Traer is a CPA who holds a master's degree in accounting and a bachelor's degree in economics, both from the University of Virginia.
Ms. Tobin, based in London, has been with the team since 1996. She previously assisted in running her family's business in Dublin, Ireland. Ms. Tobin earned her bachelor's degree with honors in economics from University College, Dublin, where she has also pursued development studies at the postgraduate level.
Mr. Voss, a member of the primary partnership team, joined the firm in 1999 after graduating with distinction from the MBA program at Babson College. Previously he managed international sales and distribution for the Cannondale Corporation, a leading manufacturer of bicycles and cycling accessories. Mr. Voss graduated cum laude from Bryant College with a bachelor's degree in marketing.
Mr. Walker, a member of the primary partnership team, joined the firm in 1998 after graduating from the Masters in Science and Finance program at Boston College. Previously, he served as a pilot in the United States Navy, flying P-3 Orion aircraft, and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander. Mr. Walker graduated from Providence College with a bachelor's degree in finance.
Mr. Buenneke, a member of the secondary partnership team, joined the firm in 2002 after graduating from the MBA program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. Prior to Kellogg, he was an associate with Paul Capital Partners in San Francisco and an analyst with Lehman Brothers' Investment Banking Group in New York. Mr. Buenneke graduated with an AB in government from Dartmouth College in 1994.
Mr. Fiato, a member of the secondary partnership team, joined the team in 1994. Prior to joining HarbourVest's investment team, he was a senior fund accountant with HarbourVest. Mr. Fiato graduated with a bachelor's degree from Salem State College.
Mr. Keay, a member of the secondary partnership team, joined the firm in 1999 after three years at Ernst & Young, LLP specializing in venture capital and financial services industries and serving on the audit of HarbourVest. Mr. Keay graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in economics and accounting from the College of the Holy Cross.
Mr. du Roy, based in London, serves on both the direct investment and secondary partnership teams. Mr. Gran and Mr. Marmer are members of the primary partnership team in Boston.
