HarbourVest Partners Promotes Eight Investment Professional

BOSTON — 09 November 2004 — HarbourVest Partners, LLC, a leading global private equity investment firm, announced today the promotion of eight of the firm’s 53 investment professionals.

Julie K. Eiermann, Diane W. Goodwin, and Karin J. Lagerlund have been named senior vice presidents of the firm. Jeffrey R. Keay and Laura C. Thaxter have been promoted to vice president. Kyle A. Bohannan has been promoted to senior associate, while Carolina Espinal de Carulla and Olga Tater have been named associates.

Ms. Eiermann joined the firm in 1993 and today manages HarbourVest’s proprietary database of partnership information, produces partnership performance analysis, and oversees the partnership performance group. Ms. Eiermann received a BA from the University of New Hampshire in 1987.

Ms. Goodwin joined HarbourVest in 1995 and currently oversees the treasury group and focuses on a number of special projects, including the development of a new investor database. She received a BS from the University of Vermont in 1985.

Ms. Lagerlund is the firm’s Controller, with the responsibility for overseeing the accounting and finance teams. This team of 20 professionals generates annual and semi-annual financial statements, as well as quarterly limited partner capital account statements. The team is also responsible for cash distributions and fund level performance measurement and monitors closings for secondary transactions. Ms. Lagerlund received her BA in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting and Finance from Washington State University in 1987.

Mr. Keay joined HarbourVest’s Boston office in 1999. He focuses on secondary partnership investments. Mr. Keay received a BA (cum laude) in Economics and Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross in 1996.

Ms. Thaxter joined the firm in 2000. Her responsibilities have included enhancing the firm’s communications efforts and building the marketing and client communications team. This team manages and produces annual and semi-annual reports, fund updates for limited partners, the annual investor meeting, presentations, materials for new fund offerings, investment summaries, and firm web site. Ms. Thaxter received a BA in Government and Economics from Dartmouth College in 1993.

Mr. Bohannon, with HarbourVest’s London-based subsidiary, currently focuses on non-U.S. direct investments. He joined HarbourVest’s direct investment team in Boston as an associate in 2001 and transferred to London in 2003. Mr. Bohannan received a BA in Political Science from Amherst in 1999.

Ms. Espinal de Carulla, focuses on non-U.S. partnership and direct investments in the firm’s London-based subsidiary. She graduated with honors from Rice University with a triple major in Managerial Studies, Policy Studies, and Economics. Ms. de Carulla also holds an MS in Finance from the London Business School which she earned in 2003.

Ms. Tatar is a member of the firm’s secondary partnership investment team. She holds a BS (summa cum laude) in Business Administration from Boston University School of Management which she earned in 2000. In 2003, Ms. Tatar earned the designation of CFA.
