HarbourVest Partners Promotes Mirani to Managing Director
BOSTON — 12 January 2007 — HarbourVest Partners, LLC (the "Firm"), a leading global private equity investment firm, today announced the promotion of Ms. Hemal Mirani to Managing Director of its Hong Kong subsidiary, HarbourVest Partners (Asia) Limited."Hemal's exceptional commitment to the Firm's Asia Pacific business and exacting professional standards have advanced HarbourVest's and its clients' interests in a challenging and strategic market," said Edward W. Ms. Mirani joined the firm in 1997 and played a vital role in establishing HarbourVest's presence in the region. Over the past ten years, she has developed relationships with fund managers and with the Firm's regional and global client base. As a Managing Director, Ms. Mirani will continue to expand her role in each of these areas.

HarbourVest recently closed its fifth international fund-of-funds, HarbourVest International Private Equity Partners V-Partnership Fund, at €2.8 billion, which includes the HIPEP V-Asia Pacific and Rest of World Fund that was oversubscribed by investors. "Hemal has been a key contributor to the success of our Asia Pacific investment programs over the years," noted Philip M. Bilden, Managing Director of HarbourVest Partners (Asia) Limited in Hong Kong. "Hemal's experience over multiple investment cycles in Asia will help HarbourVest maintain investment leadership in the region."
Ms. Mirani received a BA in Commerce from Sydenham College (Bombay) in 1989, an MA in International Studies with a Japanese language concentration from the Joseph H. Lauder Institute, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School in 1997. The latter two were part of a joint degree program at the University of Pennsylvania. She also serves on the advisory boards of several Asia Pacific partnerships.
