HarbourVest Partners Promotes Seven Investment Professionals

BOSTON — 30 October 2007 — HarbourVest Partners, LLC, a leading global private equity investment firm, today announced the promotions of seven investment professionals. Jeffrey R. Keay and Christopher J. Walker were named Principals, and Laura C. Thaxter was named Senior Vice President. Additionally, Valérie Handal, John J. Nelson, CPA, Sandra J. Pasquale, CPA, and Michael J. Pugatch were promoted to Vice President.

Mr. Keay joined HarbourVest in 1999 and is currently a member of the secondary investment team where he focuses on U.S. and non-U.S. investments in limited partnerships and portfolios of direct investments. He received a BA (cum laude) in Economics and Accounting from the College of the Holy Cross.

Mr. Walker joined HarbourVest in 1998 and is currently a member of the primary partnership team where he focuses on U.S. venture capital and buyout partnership investments and sits on the advisory boards of a number of partnerships. He received a BS in Finance from Providence College and an MS in Finance from the Carroll School of Management Program at Boston College.

Ms. Thaxter joined HarbourVest in 2000 to develop the marketing and client communications group. Today she oversees the firm's global communications, investor relations, corporate branding, and fundraising initiatives. Ms. Thaxter received a BA in Government and Economics from Dartmouth College.

Ms. Handal joined HarbourVest's London subsidiary in 2006 to focus on secondary investments in limited partnerships and portfolios of direct investments, primarily in Europe. She received a BS (Honours) in Economics from The London School of Economics and Political Science and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Nelson joined HarbourVest's accounting team in 1999 and is currently responsible for producing financial information on HarbourVest funds, reviewing general partner financial information, and handling limited partner financial requests. A CPA, Mr. Nelson received a BS in Business Administration from Stonehill College and an MBA from Babson College.

Ms. Pasquale joined HarbourVest's treasury group in 2004 and is responsible for monitoring daily cash levels and banking relations, establishing and maintaining credit lines, and implementing new technologies. A CPA, Ms. Pasquale received a BS in Accounting from Bentley College and an MBA from Suffolk University.

Mr. Pugatch joined HarbourVest's secondary team in 2003 and has been involved in the acquisitions of a number of direct private equity portfolios and the structuring of synthetic secondary and structured transactions. He received a BS (summa cum laude) in Business Administration from Babson College.
