Bruce Pixler is a vice president of HarbourVest and the Firm's Director of Tax. He joined HarbourVest in 2005 as a tax manager, beame the assistant director of taxation in 2007, and was promoted to his current position in 2009. Bruce is responsible for the management of the Tax Department staff and coordinating the U.S. federal and state income tax compliance function for all of the HarbourVest entities, which entails oversight of the preparation of approximately 1,000 federal and state tax returns annually. In addition, he is extensively involved in the tax-related communications for current and prospective investors.
Bruce joined the Firm in 2005 after six years working for Mellon Financial Corporation, where he was team leader, manager of partnership accounting and taxation, and a senior client relationship officer in the Private Wealth division. He managed the overall investment partnership accounting and tax compliance services nationwide for Mellon's Family Office Group, and was responsible for new business development. Prior to this, he worked at Parkwood Corporation and Kopperman & Wolf Co., CPAs.
A certified public accountant, Bruce received his B.S. in Accounting from Bowling Green State University in 1981.
