Steve Belgrad joined HarbourVest Partners in 2008 as a principal and the Chief Financial Officer of HarbourVest Global Private Equity Limited ("HVPE"), a closed-end investment company listed on Euronext Amsterdam and the London Stock Exchange that invests in and alongside HarbourVest-managed funds. Steve manages HVPE's investment guidelines, monitors the portfolio, and liaises with investors, analysts, and the board of directors.
He joined Firm from Affiliated Managers Group, an asset management company with equity investments in a varied group of boutique investment management firms, where he was a Vice President in the New Investments Group. Prior to that, he served as Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Janus Capital Group. During his three years at Janus, he was responsible for treasury, investor relations, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and corporate strategy and development. Prior to joining Janus, he was an Executive Director in the Financial Institutions Group at Morgan Stanley & Co., where he was responsible for client coverage and execution of mergers and acquisitions and corporate finance projects to the Investment Management Sector.
Steve received a BA in Economics (cum laude) from Princeton University in 1985 and an MBA from Harvard in 1990.
