About John
John joined HarbourVest in 1996 and served as a managing director focused on U.S. Buyout, Venture and Private Debt partnership investments. In July 2024, he transitioned to senior advisor.
During his tenure, John served on the advisory board of numerous partnerships including those managed by The Blackstone Group, Hellman & Friedman, H.I.G. Capital, Sterling Investment Partners and GTCR. He also served on HarbourVest’s Supervisory Board, Compensation Committee, Buyout Investment Committee and Credit Investment Committee.
Previously, John held investment roles at Abbott Capital Management and as a vice president in the Corporate Finance Department at CIBC.
He received a BA in Economics from Clark University in 1986 and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University in 1994.
