About Keiko

Keiko Fuchioka joined HarbourVest in 2019 and is a member of the Firm’s Enterprise Continuous Improvement Organization. The Enterprise Continuous Improvement team focuses on process excellence and digital program execution across a number of strategic, operational, and business initiatives to improve and enhance HarbourVest’s firmwide systems and processes. Keiko is responsible for building continuous improvement culture across the Firm.

Keiko joined the Firm from Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, where she was a business transformation leader responsible for culture transformation for business excellence. Prior to that, Keiko was a global business excellence leader at Boston Scientific, where she led an enterprise-wide business excellence program. Her previous experience also includes nine years with General Electric Company and GE Capital, where she held various roles in the US and Asia. Keiko is a GE certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt.

Keiko received a BA in Business from Waseda University in Tokyo and an MBA from Boston University. She is a native Japanese speaker.

Continuation solutions encompass a host of transaction types in which a GP secures interim liquidity and/or additional primary capital for their LPs in a strongly performing asset, or set of assets, that the GP will continue to own and control. Specifically, they include continuation funds, new funds created by GPs for the purpose of acquiring the asset(s) that continue to be managed by the same GP and capitalized by one or several secondary buyers, or equity recapitalizations involving a direct equity or structured equity investment into a portfolio company. These transactions can also include a parallel investment from the GP’s latest fund into that same pool of assets (a “cross-fund trade”).
