Client Service Team Lead



Job Description

HarbourVest is seeking a Client Service Team Lead to join our newly established Client Service Organization. The Client Service Organization is responsible for managing daily inquiries from commingled and custom account clients working closely with Account Managers and across HarbourVest functional teams. The Client Service Team Lead will have an individual client case load as well as oversee London-based personnel to manage the EMEA and APAC workload effectively.

HarbourVest’s clients are primarily institutions including public and private pensions, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and health service organizations. This role will evolve over time as the Client Service team develops. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop a strong understanding of all aspects of the client journey within private markets asset management including onboarding, capital calls, distributions, reporting, and portfolio reviews. This also includes working closely with specialist teams across the firm including investment, solutions, accounting, treasury, tax, legal, compliance, and marketing. Along with Account Managers, the Client Service team will be the face of HarbourVest to clients and will be required to demonstrate strong relationship building and client management skills.

Additional skills should include client facing experience, relationship management experience, strong communication skills, strong analytical and problem solving skills, and prioritization skills.

The Client Service Team Lead will report to the Boston-based Head of Client Service and will be required to demonstrate strong team management and internal and external relationship building skills. The Client Service Team Lead will be responsible for the management of two Client Service Associates.


Bachelor's degree or equivalent with strong academic credentials


5-7 years of Client Service or Operations experience including management or team leader experience. Investment management, financial services, or private equity experience preferred
