Direct Co-Investment Associate
The principle functions of the Direct Co-Investment Associate include developing opinions on prospective investments, performing due diligence, conducting return analysis, and writing investment summaries. The Direct Co-Investment Associate should have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. He/she must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and should have a thorough knowledge of private equity markets and financial expertise.
The Direct Co-Investment Associate’s responsibilities will include identifying and evaluating new and follow-on direct co-investment opportunities, performing detailed due diligence including meeting with management, studying industry trends, reviewing financial results, and conducting customer reference calls. He/she will also generate extensive financial models to illustrate the potential returns of an investment. The Associate will be responsible for monitoring portfolio investments and working with senior members of the team on post-investment portfolio company activities. HarbourVest makes its investment decisions in a team-oriented fashion, so candidates must be able to effectively communicate the merits of an investment to other team members and be able to answer their questions.
Additional skills required include a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Fluency in a second European language is preferred.
