Marketing Specialist

Job Description

The Marketing Specialist role will focus on overseeing, coordinating, and developing high quality marketing materials for HarbourVest’s Asia Pacific clients and prospects in the institutional and private client channels including RFPs (requests for proposals), sales pitches, presentations, and other marketing collateral. This role has three primary areas of focus:

  • Marketing Champion – Serve as the marketing expert for the Asia team. As a member of the Global Marketing and Communications team, this individual will build a strong working knowledge of marketing content, systems, initiatives, processes, and procedures. This individual will leverage this knowledge to act as a key resource for the Asia team in Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul, and Tokyo;
  • RFPs / Due Diligence – Promote HarbourVest to existing and potential clients during their due diligence process through the preparation of responses to RFPs, due diligence questionnaires, and other due diligence requests;
  • Marketing Content and Presentation Management – Oversee the queue of upcoming meetings and presentation requests for Asia Pacific clients and prospects, HarbourVest-hosted events, and industry conferences. He/she will ensure there is clear direction and sufficient resources for each item and will also assist with completing these requests.

The Marketing Specialist will work closely with various functional teams (marketing, investor relations, investments, operations, and compliance). The ideal candidate will be able to “connect the dots” between client needs, market trends, and business goals in order to generate ideas and, ultimately, compelling marketing materials. This role reports to the marketing manager in London with a matrix reporting line to the local Hong Kong office. Additional skills required include Microsoft Office (World, Excel, and PowerPoint), project management, writing, communications, and editing.

Education

BS/BA or equivalent

Experience

5-7 years experience in marketing with specific experience working alongside sales and relationship management teams on RFPs and presentations. Institutional asset management or private equity experience preferred.
