AsianInvestor has named HarbourVest’s Philip Bilden among Asia’s 25 most influential people in private equity, identifying “the key players who are driving Asia’s private equity industry to new heights”. Philip joined HarbourVest in Boston in 1991 and relocated to Hong Kong in 1996 to establish and manage our initial location in Asia. AsianInvestor highlights HarbourVest among Asian private equity’s earliest entrants, recognizing our first investment in a local fund manager in 1984. Over the past three decades, HarbourVest has invested $2.6 billion in Asia, expanding our focus from private equity funds to include secondary and direct co-investments in the region and, more recently, establishing locations in Tokyo (2010) and Beijing (2012).

AsianInvestor describes Philip as “modest about his contribution to HarbourVest’s achievements in the region, largely crediting regional team members and the vision and early pioneering work of HarbourVest’s founding partners”.
