HarbourVest Expands Focus on Real Assets and Welcomes Michael Dean as Principal
16 July 2014
HarbourVest is pleased to announce that Michael Dean has joined the firm as a Principal. Mike joins the secondary team with a focus on real assets, including energy, infrastructure, real estate, and other commodities.
“HarbourVest has been reviewing opportunities in real assets for quite some time. We continue to see strong interest in real assets and believe this is a natural extension of the HarbourVest platform across the private markets, said Brett Gordon, managing director of HarbourVest. Mike’s depth of experience in real assets is a complement to our team’s expertise in primary, secondary, and co-investment activities. We expect to add additional team members with real assets expertise who will be integrated into our existing teams and processes.”
HarbourVest recently formed its first customized fund focused on secondary purchases of real assets.
Mike joins us from Meketa Investment Group where he served as the Head of Real Assets, and his prior experience includes serving as Director of Investments at Ithecus Capital Group, a real estate investment firm.
