6 November 2014
In October 2014, Dow Jones’ Private Equity News once again named HarbourVest Managing Director Kathleen Bacon to FN 100 Most Influential Women: Fighting for the Future of European Finance. This is the third year in a row that Kathleen has been recognized for her contribution to private market finance. This year’s list, the eighth annual, highlights the editors’ picks “of the most influential female executives working in financial services across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and showcases the industry leaders who are successfully seeking out and driving forward opportunities in a rapidly evolving region.” Kathleen celebrated 20 years with HarbourVest in 2014, and Private Equity News states “In that time, she has emerged as one of Europe’s most influential investors and helped the firm grow its London operation to a 25-strong unit that has well-established relationships with large-cap buyout fund managers. Focused on investments in European and emerging markets, Bacon is described by one fund manager as “smart, incisive and perceptive”.” Kathleen is also the co-founder of the Women in Private Equity Group, a 300-member group of women in the European finance industry that will officially launch in 2015.
