Paying it forward

Making a positive impact is part of our firm’s DNA, which is why we make it easy for employees to volunteer and give back to the communities where they live and work.

Global Volunteer Weeks

Our Global Volunteer Weeks program gives employees opportunities to work together to support worthy organizations in their local communities. Recent examples include:

  • Colleagues in Bogotá worked with Pocalana, a homeless services organization that provides shelter, meals, and support.
  • Toronto employees sorted food donations at the Daily Bread Food Bank and prepped and served meals at the Woodgreen Foundation.
  • Our Tokyo team prepped and served meals at Second Harvest Japan.
  • Hong Kong colleagues helped prepare hot and healthy meals at the Foodlink Foundation.
  • Our Seoul team supported Sarangbat, an organization that provides food to those in need.

Charitable Giving

Our commitment to doing good flows throughout HarbourVest. We take an active role in supporting worthy causes and organizations in our local communities—more than 270 across the globe. Examples include youth mentoring, child/adult special education, gender diversity, poverty and homelessness, various health causes, women’s leadership, and the arts.

Matching Gift Program

We also support employees who choose to make donations to the causes they value through our Matching Gift Program. Each calendar year, HarbourVest matches up to USD $2,500 in employee donations made to global non-profit organizations.

Service Days Program

HarbourVest offers every employee a total of 16 hours of paid time off specifically to volunteer in their local community. Two days can make a big difference.
