Boston & Zurich – HarbourVest Partners, a global private markets asset manager, today announced it has signed a new long-term lease for its office in Zurich, which is centrally located on Claridenstrasse and is its fifth office in EMEA. The team was previously operating at a temporary office space following the official opening in June.
HarbourVest also announced the appointment of Daniel Signer as Principal to lead the growth of the firm’s institutional investor channel in Switzerland. Daniel brings over 21 years of experience working with institutional investors in Switzerland and Germany, and he is the fourth professional hired to the Zurich team this year to support the growing demand for alternatives in the region. Further hires are planned over the next 12 months.
“We are excited to welcome Daniel to the team to focus on scaling our institutional business in Switzerland,” said Simon Jennings, Managing Director, and Head of HarbourVest’s Zurich Office. “We see a great opportunity to expand in the region, and believe it is essential to have a local team that deeply understands the unique needs of our clients. Daniel’s investment consultant background and his strong connections to Swiss institutions will help bring our global solutions to this growing market.”
HarbourVest has been active in the Swiss market for nearly 40 years, investing in the country and managing, on a cross-border basis, significant capital for investors such as pension funds, insurance companies, wealth advisors, private banks, and family offices through both commingled solutions and separately managed accounts.
