About Michael

Michael DeCenzo joined HarbourVest in 2010 and serves as a Portfolio Specialist within the Custom Solutions Group, leading Separately Managed Accounts in the Americas. He partners directly with clients and consultants to understand investment objectives, risk tolerances, and strategic priorities to create custom private markets programs. As a key investment contact post-onboarding, Michael remains deeply engaged with clients, supporting the evolution of their strategic and tactical plans over time. He also coordinates the ongoing management and review of client portfolios, ensuring alignment with performance expectations and long-term objectives.

Michael began his career at HarbourVest in Portfolio Analytics and joined the Custom Solutions Group in 2015, initially focusing on supporting the firm’s separately managed account business development efforts.

He received a BS in Finance from Fairfield University and both an MBA and MS in Finance from Northeastern University.
