Argy Portokalaki joined HarbourVest in 2021 and oversees the tax structuring of EMEA HarbourVest legal entities and portfolios and provides tax transactional support to HarbourVest’s investment teams.  Argy joined the Firm from BlackRock, where she was a Vice President in the alternatives tax team in Europe advising on all tax aspects, including transactions and structuring, of private credit and private equity fund of funds. Prior to BlackRock, Argy was a Senior Tax Manager and part of the business unit tax team at Morgan Stanley, where she was providing advisory support and tax risk management to the equities, fixed income, global capital markets and investment banking divisions in EMEA. Argy started her tax career at the business structuring tax team of EY.  Argy received an LLM from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School as well as an LLB and an LLM from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, School of Law. Argy is fluent in Greek and French.
