Julie Goodwin joined HarbourVest in 2025 as part of the Operational Diligence team. She focuses on physical security globally, which includes protecting our people, assets, brand, and reputation. Julie manages the global security program, which encompasses office security, travel, events, risk intelligence, investigations, employee awareness, and training.
Her prior experience includes serving as Senior Director of Corporate Security at Resilience, where she built a global security program from the ground up for a startup biotech and manufacturing company, managing security across all sites and facilities. Julie also spent nearly 19 years with the U.S. Secret Service, where she held roles such as Deputy Special Agent in Charge, Resident Agent in Charge. During her tenure she planned, coordinated, and executed security operations in the War Room, and served on the President’s, First Family, Former President and Former First Lady Details.
Julie graduated from Salem State University with a BS in Sociology and Political Science. She has received numerous awards, including the Department of the Army Meritorious Civilian Service Medal, ten commendation letters for courage, investigations, and protection, and the United States Attorney’s Office Award for Outstanding Financial Crimes Investigative Work.
